Les Paul - More than just Guitars

Tributes for guitar legend Les Paul; dead at 94

Les Paul past away August 13th, 2009 at the age of 94.  Although a talented musician, he is most well-known for inventing the electric guitar; opening the door to pop and rock music as we know it.

But Paul's influence didn't stop there.  He is also credited with inventing the multi-track recording and the "echoey" sound of reverb.  The multitrack recorder changed how music could be recorded: from a band playing a song in one take, to being able to record instruments and vocals separately and layer them together.

So whatever music your listening to today, remember that it was in some way influenced by the late Les Paul.
